Site prep
- Rhyne piped with 600mm plastic pipe (can drive over)
- 200tonnes crushed stone/scalpings used
- 57x 150mm concrete blocks weighing 1.6 tonnes
- 8 loads spoil removed at >£2000
Foundations
- Segmented precast concrete piles in 25 positions
- Each position consists of 6 pile segments
- Each pile segment is 2.5mx0.25mx0.25m and weighs 250Kg
- Each pile hammered into the ground to a depth of 15m
- 20tonne piling rig used to wield 4.5tonne hammer
- Total piles used - 150 weighing 37.5tonnes with a total length of 375m
Footings
- Poured concrete reinforced ring beam 450mmx450mm
- 2.5tonnes of reinforced steel rebar
- 450mx25mm diameter main steel bars
- 700 x 10mm steel rebar rings every 105mm
- Rings and rebar hand tied together with 3000 metal ties
- 40cubic metres of C25 ready mixed concrete delivered in 5 lorries
- Pumped into place with a 37m concrete pump
Ground floor
- 54 concrete beams up to 6.2m long weighing up to 300Kg each
- infilled with 1065 100mm concrete blocks weighing 22 tonnes
Roof
- 2.7Km tile batten fixed with 7500 nails
- 12,000 Clay plain tiles weighing 16tonnes
- 10,000 aluminium nails used to fix tiles
Cladding
- 14,000 facing bricks weighing 34 tonnes
- 16tonnes red sand
- 75 bags cement
